DealStack Council

Keep a seat in the room where private deals get pressure-tested

You can find private deals anywhere. The harder part is knowing what deserves more attention, what information is missing, and when to walk away.

DealStack Council gives you a year of ongoing access to the live DealStack decision room, where investors examine real opportunities, ask better questions, and learn how other investors think.

What DealStack members say

  • It’s not like, all right, you’re done the course, boom, access deleted… Really appreciate the continued access to it, which is huge.
    Ian JohnstonHealthcare Professional
  • At 27, I finally feel like I’m building the right foundation — not just chasing deals. I didn’t want to wait until my 40s or 50s to take this seriously. Cashflow Academy gave me a real framework for evaluating opportunities and a plan for which deals to start with. I’m in more deals now, but more importantly, I actually understand why I’m in them.
    Michael AlberseGoogle Cloud Account Executive
  • I always feel like you can learn so much from people a few years ahead of you on the journey.
Kathleen MarcellCustomer Success & Operations Executive
  • I went from second‑guessing every deck to knowing exactly what to look for — and when to walk away. The framework and risk stack helped me organize my thinking and surface things I hadn’t considered. Now I know what actually matters in a deal instead of getting lost in the pitch.
    Karin LeungDirector, Sales Transformation
  • “Being able to think out loud and get structured feedback was invaluable.” The Buy Box work and the risk capital stack created real “aha” moments for me. Your process helped me organize my priorities, rethink what actually matters in my strategy, and surface things I hadn’t considered before.
    Tod SpoonerChief Revenue Officer (CRO)

Live Deal Briefing

Open to the DealStack network

A paid investment firm presents an opportunity for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of investor questions.

You will hear:

  • Who the firm is.
  • What problem the investment is designed to solve.
  • How the structure works.
  • What the major risks are.
  • What an investor should investigate next.

The Live Deal Briefing is educational and informational. It is not a recommendation to invest.

If no suitable live opportunity is available, the 12:00 hour may feature an archived DealStack case, a diligence workshop, an educational teardown, or a framework lesson. A weak opportunity is never placed on the calendar just to fill the hour.

Included with Council

The DealStack Decision Library

Council members receive access to the accumulated archive of the room.

  • Past hot-seat recordings.
  • Deal-review recaps.
  • The room’s educational read.
  • Questions raised by investors.
  • Unanswered diligence questions.
  • Next-step notes.
  • Organization by deal type, investor objective, and diligence issue.

The Accelerator gives you the current cohort period. Council gives you the accumulated intelligence of the room. The library becomes more useful as more real opportunities are reviewed.

Quarterly expert sessions

Council members receive four expert sessions each year with professionals who can provide specialized educational perspectives on private-market investing.

Topics may include:

  • Legal considerations.
  • Tax considerations.
  • Deal structure.
  • Due diligence.
  • Investor operations.
  • Risk management.
  • Private-market decision-making.

Each session includes:

  • A structured educational presentation.
  • Member questions.
  • Practical examples.
  • A recording and written recap.

Expert sessions are educational and informational. They are not individualized legal, tax, or investment advice.

What you get as a Council member

Your first year includes:

  • One year of access to the live DealStack room.
  • Ongoing Live Deal Reviews.
  • Live Deal Briefings.
  • DealStack Implementation Labs.
  • Access to the hot-seat queue.
  • The Decision Library.
  • Quarterly expert sessions.
  • Session recordings.
  • Saturday recap emails.
  • New deal discussions and investor questions throughout the year.
  • Continued exposure to how other investors evaluate opportunities.

Council is designed for investors who want an ongoing room, not a one-time course.

The Council experience

You do not need to attend every session. You do not need to present a deal. You do not need to make an investment. You do not need to receive a hot seat.

You can

  • Watch live.
  • Watch the replay.
  • Submit an opportunity.
  • Submit an investment question.
  • Ask questions during a review.
  • Participate in the room read.
  • Review the Decision Library.
  • Use the Implementation Lab.
  • Learn from other investors’ questions.

The room continues whether or not you have a deal to present that week.

The hot-seat queue

Council members may submit a DealStack opportunity or an external private-market opportunity at any time. A submission should include what the opportunity is, what you like, what concerns you, what you are trying to decide, and a DealStack link if one exists.

External opportunities may be reviewed as educational member-submitted cases. They are not automatically published, endorsed, or added to DealStack.

No specific hot-seat date is guaranteed. Active Accelerator members receive priority during their cohort period. Council members use the same queue after those submissions.

Council provides continued access to the room and queue for the year. It does not promise a personal presentation slot.

Fit

Who DealStack Council is for

Council is for accredited investors who:

  • Have capital available to deploy.
  • Are already considering private-market opportunities.
  • Want ongoing access to a live decision room.
  • Want to hear how other investors think.
  • Want a repeatable process for evaluating opportunities.
  • Want to stay close to new deal discussions throughout the year.
  • Value perspective before spending additional time or money on a deal.

Council is not for someone who

  • Wants DealStack to choose investments.
  • Wants a guaranteed return.
  • Wants a recommendation to buy, sell, or wire.
  • Wants portfolio management.
  • Wants individualized investment advice.
  • Wants to remain completely passive.
  • Wants access to deals unavailable through a free DealStack account.

What Council does not promise

  • A specific investment return.
  • A specific number of deals.
  • A capital-raising result.
  • A personal hot seat.
  • A recommendation to invest.
  • That every reviewed opportunity will be attractive.
  • That every member will agree with the room’s read.

The purpose of the Council is not to eliminate uncertainty. The purpose is to help you ask better questions, identify missing information, and make more disciplined decisions.

DealStack Council is educational and informational. DealStack does not make investment decisions for members. DealStack and its representatives do not tell members what to buy, sell, or wire. The room’s discussion and room reads are not investment advice or recommendations. You are responsible for conducting your own diligence and making your own investment decisions. Paying does not change which deals you can see.
