Principal

Daniel Casey is a principal at AVAD Living, where he leads the firm's strategy of converting naturally occurring affordable housing into durable, regulated affordability across the Greater Seattle region. He brings more than 25 years of experience across real estate, construction and financial operations. He began his career in public accounting at KPMG, and has since acquired, operated and improved hundreds of multifamily units through a vertically integrated construction and property management platform. He is President and CEO of North40 Capital and of BlackRock Construction Group, a Puget Sound general contractor he has led since 2010.

Dan Mogolesko

Principal

Dan Mogolesko is a principal at AVAD Living and brings more than 25 years of experience building, operating, and scaling large residential real estate platforms across urban and suburban markets. Over the course of his career, Dan played a senior leadership role in the growth of a multi-billion-dollar residential portfolio, contributing to the acquisition, development, and management of over $5 billion in assets. He was instrumental in building and successfully operating a property management organization with more than 400 employees, overseeing thousands of units across multiple markets and asset types. Dan's experience spans garden-style communities, master-planned developments, mixed-use properties, and high-density residential housing. His background includes large-scale operations, talent development, systems implementation, and performance-driven property management with direct accountability for operational results, resident experience, and long-term asset performance. At AVAD Living, Dan provides institutional operational discipline and execution oversight, ensuring complex assets are managed with rigor, compliance, and a long-term ownership mindset.

Brian Murray

Principal

Brian Murray is a principal at AVAD Living, where he contributes expertise in capital formation, portfolio strategy and investor alignment. His career spans acquisitions, capital markets and long-term ownership of workforce and affordable housing, and he is the general partner or sole owner of more than 14,500 units across multifamily, mobile home parks and self-storage. He is the co-founder of OpenDoor Capital and the founder and CEO of Washington Street Properties, which made the Inc. 5000 list five years in a row. He is the author of Crushing It in Apartments and Commercial Real Estate and The Multifamily Millionaire, Volumes I and II.
